HOW CAN WE SUPPORT YOUR RESEARCH?
Knowledge i discovery i Creativity
Without question, we recognize the impact that research has on society. The New School's contributions are significant, and strong support for sponsored research activity and creative innovation of our faculty are key to our success. Support of research takes a team of experts.
The process of finding funding, creating proposals, effectively submitting a proposal, managing an awarded project and closing out the project in a manner that furthers the research as well as reconciling the financial books and compliance milestones takes keen support acumen and expertise.
These documents and guides attempt to bring some of these resources to the fingertips of those doing this important work. While faculty researchers focus on the science, those in research administration help ensure the other business processes are met, whether it be proposal submission, managing project milestones, compliance reporting, or financials.
The Office of Research Support (ORS) is the central resource and expert partner on research administration providing support and oversight of sponsored projects. ORS represents The New School as the institutional official for proposal submission and award acceptance ensuring compliance with federal regulations, sponsor requirements and University policies. For more information regarding the ORS please click here or visit the Provost's Office page in the About Us section.
Please see our “How do I….” guidance document here.
If you have any questions, contact one of the ORS Team members at firstname.lastname@example.org for additional help.
The Office of Research Support (ORS) works directly with faculty
to determine what available funding opportunities match their
research needs and priorities. ORS can navigate the many federal,

databases and create a prospectus of customized opportunities to
keep you apprised of notable funding opportunities.
The ORS Pre-Award team supports faculty and administrators in the
preparation of grant and fellowship applications, management of
sponsored awards, development of non-disciplinary components of
proposals, and enhancement of proposal competitiveness. We facilitate the internal proposal review and submission process, ensure adherence to sponsor guidelines and University policies, and ensure compliance with sponsor terms and conditions as well as University policies.
The ORS Post Award Team is committed to supporting PI's in their management of sponsored funds. In partnership with researchers, college/school administrators and central administrators, we support the policies and procedures that enable The New School to be compliant with the regulations and requirements of our sponsors.
The New School is committed to the highest ideals,
standards, and protections in the conduct of research
